Brandons Biography

randon Gautreaux began dancing in 1993 and since 2004, he has been teaching, competing, and judging internationally. Brandon first began dancing under the tutalage of Mrs. Tyoni Martin who now runs the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships in Burbank, CA. After receiving a solid foundation in west coast swing he went on taking private lessons from many of the top champion dancers and competing in various competions over the years. Brandon took an almost 10 year hiatus in swing to pursue another love in martial arts. Back now teaching since 2004 Brandon has a new approach to understanding West Coast Swing.Through his martial arts background and an inherited philosophical approach from the legendary Bruce Lee, Brandon teaches to

e has learned many different approaches to learning west coast swing as well as teaching it and feels that no one way of dancing it is correct over another. There is never one way to do anything. He teaches all his students to find what works for them and to branch out, and that what works for him may not necessarily work for someone else.In his teaching, Brandon focuses on connection, centering, musicality, body flight, styling, footwork, and lead/follow techniques.
